Probation Supervisor Accused Of Molesting Juvenile Inmate

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (CBS13) — A San Joaquin County probation department supervisor is accused of molesting an inmate at the juvenile detention center earlier this year.

Authorities say this supervisor has been an employee here for 19 years and that the alleged incident happened while she was on the job.

Victoria Spivey, 47, is charged with annoying or molesting a child under 18, a misdemeanor, and unlawful assault by a public officer, a felony. The second charge pertains to committing the crime while on duty as a detention unit supervisor.

"I can tell you multiple acts occurred in the facility," said Andrea Lopez, a spokeswoman with the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff's office said this comes after a months-long investigation.

"Cases of this nature, regardless of location, it takes time to gather evidence and gather statements," said Lopez.

Authorities say Spivey reportedly did this with one child that officials know of, but investigators are looking into the possibility of more victims.

"I think any victim of any sexual crime should come forward and they are more than welcome to contact the sheriff office," Lopez said.

Spivey is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. She is expected to be arraigned Friday or Monday in superior court.
