Update On Window Washer Who Fell 11 Stories Expected Today

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The wife of a 58-year-old window washer who fell 11 stories from the roof of a building onto a moving car will speak about his recovery process.

Marciela Perez will speak Tuesday morning in Oakland about her husband, Pedro Perez.

He was moving equipment on the roof of a bank building in the heart of San Francisco's financial district on Nov. 21 when he fell.

The family is asking for donations to cover the man's rehabilitation. He suffered critical injuries in the fall.

Dr. Paul Doherty, a physics professor, later said it took about three seconds for Perez, falling at an estimated speed of 60 mph, to hit the car, which acted as a big shock absorber and saved his life.

The car's driver was not injured.
