UC Davis Arboretum Selling Drought-Resistant Plants On Saturday
DAVIS (CBS13) — The demand for drought-resistant plants has never been higher as California is in the fourth year of its drought.
At the UC Davis Arboretum Teaching Nursery, CBS13's tour guide Ellen Zagory, the director of public horticulture, guides us through the world of drought-tolerant plants.
Most drought-tolerant plants only need to be watered every two to three weeks, whether it's a decorative desert spoon or a Spanish lavender beauty. The colors pop in purple, yellow and red.
Zagory says drought-resistant plants aren't much more costly, with those that are higher in price by another dollar or so.
The arboretum is having a one-day public sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
