Turlock Police Arrest Man For 2013 Murder Of Suspected Thief

TURLOCK (CBS13) — A Turlock man was arrested in the July 2013 murder of a man he claimed was a suspected thief.

Robin Duane Boyer, 60, was arrested on Friday during a traffic stop without incident for the murder of  25-year-old Brandon Pacheco.

Back in 2013, officers who responded to the scene found a homeless man dead in a sweet potato field from a gunshot to the head. Police had tried to determine if the shooting was in self-defense.

Police said Boyer, the homeowner, told police he spotted the man trying to steal some of his possessions and confronted him before opening fire. Boyer told police he had seen the man trespassing on his property on previous occasions.
