Big Rig Drives Into Ditch Along Highway 99 In Sutter County; Driver Arrested
SUTTER COUNTY (CBS13) - Drivers on southbound Highway 99 in Sutter County may see delays this morning after a big rig drove into a ditch.
At around 4 a.m., the semi hauling paper products left the roadway just before Sacramento Avenue, hit a call box and a fog advisory sign before it stopped in a ditch filled with mud running alongside the road, according to a CHP spokesperson.
The driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries and was later arrested on DUI charges.
Crews cut the back doors off the trailer and will offload the cargo before attempting to tow the truck from the ditch.
One lane of Highway 99 was closed.
