Threats Against Ponderosa High School Investigated, Student Removed From Campus

SHINGLE SPRINGS (CBS13) - Authorities are investigating after an alleged threat was made by a student against Ponderosa High School.

The El Dorado Union High School District says they were alerted to the situation Tuesday morning. Officials say a student at Ponderosa High School allegedly made threats against the school.

It is unclear what kind of threats were made or how school officials learned about them.

Authorities immediately investigated the threats and have removed the student from campus, the district says.

"We are grateful to the El Dorado County Sherriff's Department and our own staff as we work together to ensure the continued safety of everyone involved," said Stephen Wehr, El Dorado Union High School District Superintendent, in a release.

The student's identity is not being released at this time.
