#TBT: Joe Montana's #16 Retired 19 Years Ago Today

In honor of #tbt, we take you back to 1997. 19 years ago today, the NFL retired one of the greatest quarterback in history, 49ers very own Joe Montana's jersey number 16.

Montana's career as a quarterback was one no one has seen. He threw 40,551 yards, 273 touchdowns, and 3,409 completed passes. He has appeared in the Super Bowl 4 times and has won all of them. He was also known for the greatest catch in history simply known as "The Catch". He is ranked #1 of the 57 quarterbacks in the Super Bowl.

We can all agree, this was a well deserved honor.
