The Skyslide Thrill Ride Arrives In Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The latest Los Angeles thrill ride has arrived - a glass slide that will jut from a skyscraper 1,000 feet above the ground.

A helicopter on Saturday brought the Skyslide to the 69th floor of the U.S. Bank Tower, the tallest building west of the Mississippi.

When it opens in June, the 45-foot-long slide will carry visitors from floors 70 to 69 as they peer through inch-and-a-quarter-thick glass at downtown L.A. below them.

Building owner OUE Limited says it's the only slide of its kind in the nation.

The trip ends at an open-air observation deck with a 360-degree view that stretches from the mountains to the ocean.

The slide will cost $8 and admission to the observation deck will be $25. Tickets are available online.
