Teens Arrested After Woodland School Burglary

WOODLAND (CBS13) -- Two teens were arrested Monday night after Woodland Police and Yolo County Sheriff's responded to reports of two teenage males breaking into Lee Junior High just before 10:30 PM.  Police say the Janitorial staff reportedly hid in a small office because they feared for their safety.

Woodland Police say they set up a perimeter around the school with assistance from a Yolo County Sheriff's deputy and quickly apprehended two 15-year-old males who ran from the school.

Officers found numerous items including six laptops that were removed from the building, and the building was vandalized.  They estimate the suspects attempted to steal about $3,000 in property and caused over $1,000 in damage.

Police say that the juvenile suspects were both validated gang members living in Woodland, and both were on Yolo County Juvenile probation.  They were booked into the Yolo County Juvenile Hall on Burglary, conspiracy, gang and probation charges.
