Teen stabbed outside Mira Loma High School in Sacramento, sheriff says
ARDEN-ARCADE — Authorities are investigating after a teenager was stabbed outside of a school in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said late Tuesday afternoon that a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest during a fight in front of Mira Loma High School on Edison Avenue.
The severity of the teen's injuries was not known, but authorities said he was expected to survive.
The fight involved several people, authorities said. At least one juvenile, who the sheriff's office says was not a student, was detained.
San Juan Unified officials say additional counseling and safety staff will be at the school on Wednesday.
