Tahoe Elementary Closed Friday Due To Water Main Break

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Sacramento school will be closed Friday due to a water main break.

The scene is near Broadway and 58^th Street.  The main ruptured just before 3 a.m., flooding the intersection.

Sacramento City Utilities crews are working to get everything fixed, but say it could take several hours. Apparently, a 1920's-era cast iron pipe broke.

Nearby, Tahoe Elementary will be closed for the day because the school does not have any water. Residents in the nearby area are also without water.

The water should be turned back on Friday afternoon, officials say.

Broadway is closed between 58^th and 61^st Streets due to the incident.
