Suspects crash during chase after robbery of Sacramento marijuana business

Suspect search after major injury crash on Watt Avenue

SACRAMENTO – A suspect chase in Sacramento ended in a major injury crash early Monday morning, authorities say.

Sacramento police say, just before 5 a.m., officers responded to a marijuana business near Alder Avenue and Fruitridge Road to investigate a reported burglary in progress.

Officers spotted the suspects' vehicle and engaged them in a chase.

The suspects then crashed into an uninvolved car near S. Watt Avenue and Manlove Road, police say, leaving the people with major but non-life-threatening injuries.

One suspect was detained, but police say at least one suspect is still on the run.

Investigators believe the marijuana business was robbed, with an unknown amount of product taken.

Authorities have not named the suspect who was detained, nor have any details been released about the suspect believed to be still outstanding.
