Stockton Ice Cream Man Robbed Of Cart, Stabbed

STOCKTON (CBS13) – An ice cream man was violently robbed of his cart early Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened near Church and Pilgrim Streets, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Police say the 44-year-old ice cream man was in the area when, a little after 1 p.m., two men walked up to him. The men first asked for some shaved ice, but quickly revealed their true motives.

At some point during the interaction, the men knocked the ice cream man to the ground. They then took the ice cream man's cash and his cart. The ice cream man pulled out a pocket knife he had and tried to stop the robbery, police say, but the suspects were able to take it away and stab him with it.

The cart and suspects were last seen heading east on Church Street. It is said to be white the lettering "Kandyman."

Police have not commented on the condition of the ice cream man.
