Shots Ring Out at West Sacramento Motel

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A man is in the hospital Monday morning after being shot at the Motel 6 on Haylard Drive in West Sacramento, according to police.
Police say they were called to the motel just before 2 a.m. and found a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken UC Davis Medical Center where he is in serious but stable condition.
Investigators say the man, who was staying at the motel with a roommate, was shot near one of the rooms and then walked out into the parking lot for help. Police are not calling the roommate a suspect at this time but say they are trying to locate him.
Police have not released any suspect information.
Portions of the motel are shut down as crime scene investigators process the scene.
