Shooting Between Vehicles In South Sacramento Leaves 1 Person Dead

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Roads were blocked in South Sacramento Wednesday morning as crews investigated a fatal shooting and crash.

According to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department sheriff's deputy, around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday people reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area of Franklin Boulevard and 44th Avenue.

Detectives believe people the shooting occurred between people in to separate cars. A short time later, a vehicle crashed into a power pole at MLK Boulevard and 46th Avenue, knocking it down. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital where he soon died.

It's unknown if the man who died was killed from being shot or from the crash.

The second vehicle involved in the shooting is described as a gray or silver sedan.
