Shocking Video Of Suspected Fairfield Animal Abuse Sparks International Outrage
FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — Fairfield Police are looking for witnesses in the case of possible animal abuse caught on camera after video of a woman throwing a dog to the ground surfaced.
Dog lovers at a park in Solano County can't believe what happened in the video—a woman appears to be holding a small dog by the neck, then tosses it across the pavement. After the horrific act, a man walks into frame, scoops up the little dog and walks toward the woman accused of animal abuse. Within seconds, several people race to the parking lot and there appears to be a lot of pushing and shoving going on.
"I can't imagine someone doing that to an animal," said Dayna Hamilton.
The video posted on Facebook has already topped 50,000 views.
"It's a tearjerker that people would treat their dogs like that," Hamilton said.
Now the images on Pennsylvania Street in Fairfield are making headlines around the world. Police are not confirming the woman's identity, but she is facing possible animal cruelty charges.
