Teenager dies in South Sacramento shooting
SACRAMENTO - A teenager has died after they were shot in the head in South Sacramento.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened Saturday night near Vintage Park Drive and Breamore Drive. The 17-year-old victim was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. He was later pronounced dead.
Authorities are investigating the shooting as a gang-related homicide.
A gun was found lying near the teen, and deputies believe the victim and his killer had exchanged gunfire.

On Sunday, investigators said five people were detained in connection to the shooting. No arrests have been announced.
