Police: 2 suspects arrested after police pursuit in Elk Grove
ELK GROVE – Officers in Elk Grove arrested a pair of suspects who, they say, led police on a chase Wednesday.
Elk Grove police said that, on Wednesday afternoon, an officer on a motorcycle attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to a code violation. But instead of pulling over, the driver of the vehicle sped away and was involved in two non-injury crashes.
The driver eventually abandoned the vehicle in the area of Foulks Ranch and Elk Grove Boulevard and tried to run away, police said.
The driver, 29-year-old Lameka Robinson, was arrested on charges of evading, hit and run, and resisting arrest. The passenger, 25-year-old Curtis Stewart, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, an air unit and a K9 officer assisted with apprehending the suspects.
