San Diego Day Care Center Operator Held In Baby's Death

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The former owner of a San Diego day care center has been arrested on suspicion of killing a baby two years ago at the now-closed facility.

U-T San Diego says 38-year-old James Nemeth of San Diego was arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder.

He remains jailed Friday and it's unclear whether he has an attorney.

Nemeth is being held in connection with the 2012 death of 11-month-old Louis Oliver. Authorities say the boy received head and spine injuries at Nemeth's home-based day care center and died the next day at a hospital.

Coroner's officials said the injuries were consistent with the boy being shaken and declared his death a homicide.
