Sacramento Sheriffs Make Arrest in Power Inn Shooting Case
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Detectives from the Sacramento Sheriff's Department People Crimes Bureau and Major Crimes have made an arrest following the shooting of a six-year-old girl in South Sacramento Tuesday evening.
Adreiona Taylor was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail Saturday evening. She is currently ineligible for bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court on August 2, 2016.
A little after 7:30 p.m. on July 26, 2016, the Sheriff's Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a 6 year old girl being shot in the area of Fruitridge Road and Lawrence Drive in South Sacramento. Deputies responded to the area and located evidence of a scene in the intersection of Fruitridge Road and Lawrence Drive. The victim was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.
The victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm. The victim was a passenger in the car with her mother. Several shots were fired by Taylor, striking the vehicle and the victim. The suspect vehicle is described as a white 90's model sedan.
