Sacramento Republic Prepares To Submit MLS Bid
Sac Republic FC is preparing to submit their MLS bid.
Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg tweeted out the news, and posted a video congratulating the team on this "exciting day." He cited ownership, venue, and fan base as viable reasons for the bid.
Officials announced that a new major player will be investing in the push: Hewlett Packard CEO and one-time Republican candidate for California governor Meg Whitman.
An exact timetable hasn't been made clear, but it's expected MLS will select its next two expansion cities sometime this year.
What do you think? Is the team #ReadyForMLS?
