Sacramento Republic Prepares To Submit MLS Bid
Sac Republic FC is preparing to submit their MLS bid.
Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg tweeted out the news, and posted a video congratulating the team on this "exciting day." He cited ownership, venue, and fan base as viable reasons for the bid.

Officials announced that a new major player will be investing in the push: Hewlett Packard CEO and one-time Republican candidate for California governor Meg Whitman.

An exact timetable hasn't been made clear, but it's expected MLS will select its next two expansion cities sometime this year.
