Sacramento radio station already playing Christmas music 24/7

SACRAMENTO – It hasn't even been 24 hours since Halloween ended, and Thanksgiving is still weeks away. But one Sacramento radio station is already getting into the Christmas spirit.

Friday morning, 92.5 The Breeze flipped from its adult contemporary format over to Christmas music.

The first Christmas song they played (at 8:52 a.m., according to the station's online playlist) was Johnny Mathis' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year."

Maybe she wasn't fully thawed yet, because it took until 11:58 a.m. until the first playing of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

All the standard Christmas fare appears to be on the menu, including Wham!, Michael Buble, and Bing Crosby.

Terrestrial radio stations usually wait until at least after Thanksgiving to switch over to Christmas fare, but Sirus XM also launches their non-stop holiday music stations on Nov. 1.

Expect the holiday music takeover of 92.5 until after Christmas Day.
