Firefighters Contain 70-Acre Grass Fire Near Sacramento International Airport

3:30 p.m. Update: Firefighters said the grass fire is mostly contained and was in the "mop up phase."

According to Sacramento Fire, more than 50 personnel battled the fire that spread over 70 acres.

No injuries were reported.

Drivers are advised to stay off Metro Parkway.

The Road closure from West Elkhorn to West Elverta Road is expected to open later Monday evening.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Firefighters are battling a two-acre grass fire just east of the Sacramento International Airport on Monday.

The fire, which is now at two-alarms, is near the intersection of Elkhorn Boulevard and Metro Air Parkway.

Crews with Sacramento Fire are at the scene.

It's unclear, at this point, what started the fire.
