Ronald Reagan Statue Unveiled At The State Capitol
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Ronald Reagan has returned to Sacramento. A bronze statue of the former California governor was unveiled in the lower part of the rotunda of the state Capitol this morning.

Everyone who enters the building in the lower level of the rotunda will see the new, solid bronze, 8 foot tall statue. It weighs 800 pounds.
Former first lady Nancy Reagan couldn't attend the unveiling, but reportedly played a big part in making the statue look like the politician, giving her input on things like his shoelaces, his ring and even the way he tied his necktie.
We met with the statue's sculptor Douglas Van Howd last year as he was creating the piece.
Reagan was governor of California from 1967 to 1975.
