Rocklin Man Driving U-Haul Full Of Pot Arrested In Shasta County

SHASTA COUNTY (CBS13) – Authorities say a Rocklin man was arrested in Shasta County after hundreds of pounds of marijuana was found in his U-Haul trailer.

The arrest happened early Wednesday morning. According to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, a deputy pulled over a Jeep Wrangler around 12:30 a.m. near Eureka Way and California Street. The vehicle was pulling a U-Haul trailer and was stopped due to unspecified vehicle code violations.

Working off of a positive alert from a sheriff's office K9, the U-Haul was searched – and about 263 pounds of processed marijuana was discovered.

The product was all in one-pound baggies, deputies say.

Two men, 27-year-old Rocklin resident Tyson Scharf (the driver) and 31-year-old San Francisco resident David Mireles, were arrested and booked at Shasta County Jail. They face charges of possession and transportation of marijuana.
