Report: UC Davis Chancellor Asked To Resign By University President
DAVIS (CBS13) – University of California President Janet Napolitano has reportedly asked UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi to resign – prompting a quick response from faculty.
Faculty members are currently circulating a letter and gathering signatures in protest of the move, noting their concerns that Napolitano's actions were carried out without consultation of school leadership.

Hundreds of faculty members have apparently added their names to letter in support of Katehi.
The letter was obtained by CBS13. It is worded as follows:
Katehi sent an email late Wednesday morning thanking faculty for their support and affirming her commitment to serving as chancellor.

Katehi's whereabouts have been a mystery in the past couple of days.
A public forum with students scheduled to happen Thursday at noon was postponed. Katehi also had a radio interview scheduled, but Capital Public Radio announced last night that she'd canceled that, too.
A representative for Katehi updated the public forum's webpage late Tuesday night saying a "later day will be announced soon."
This all comes after weeks of student protests demanding Katehi step down after it was uncovered she doubled her salary by accepting a board position at DeVry University and another at a textbook company.
