Report: Calvin Johnson Is Retiring From The NFL
According to ESPN, Calvin Johnson has informed the Detroit Lions he will be retiring from the NFL.
Last month, the star receiver made comments about possibly retiring after nine seasons in the league. At the time, it did not seem likely that Johnson would actually walk away from the sport. Now sources close Johnson have confirmed that he is in fact retiring.
Johnson told coach Jim Caldwell one day after the 2015 regular season.
Important to note: Caldwell told Calvin Johnson not to rush decision, to take time. Out of respect to Caldwell, Johnson agreed to do that.

Johnson only told two other members of the team, quarterback Matthew Stafford and linebacker Stephen Tulloch. They were asked to keep Johnson's decision confidential.
