Police Search South Sacramento Neighborhood For Domestic Violence Suspect

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A South Sacramento neighborhood is back open to vehicle traffic this morning after police blocked it off to search for a domestic violence suspect.

The incident started around midnight Monday at the intersection of Remo Way and 60th Avenue. A woman called 911 and reported a domestic violence incident. Officers told the woman to call them back if the suspect returned, which he did at around 2 a.m., according to Sacramento Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Laura Peck.

Officers arrived at the scene with K-9 officers, but were unable to find the man.

"Unfortunately we were not able to find him, so we instructed her that she should maybe go someplace else for the evening so that she and her family are safe," said Sacramento Police Department Sgt. Laura Peck.

The suspect is described as a Black adult male with short dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, jean shorts and grey shoes.
