Vandals Tip Over Smart Cars In San Francisco Overnight
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Police in San Francisco are investigating why three Smart cars were flipped over during an apparent early morning vandalism spree.
Officer Gordon Shyy, a police spokesman, says the first car was found flipped on its roof around 1 a.m. Monday in the city's Bernal Heights neighborhood.
Officers then located another smart car on its side a couple of blocks away about 10 minutes later.
Shyy says a third smart car was discovered flipped on its trunk about 1:30 a.m. in the Portola neighborhood.
Police say all three cars sustained shattered windows and body damage. The vehicles were placed back on their wheels and towed away.
The incidents are under investigation. Police say they are looking for multiple suspects wearing black hooded sweatshirts who were in the area early Monday.
