Report of possibly armed person prompts officers to swarm Sacramento restaurant

SACRAMENTO – A report of a possibly armed person inside a south Sacramento restaurant prompted a police large response late Friday afternoon.

Sacramento police said, just before 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the McDonald's near Mack Road and Valley Hi Drive to investigate a suspicious circumstance call.

The initial report was for a possibly armed person inside the restaurant. Officers quickly evacuated the building and started investigating.

However, a little after 7 p.m., Sacramento police said officers determined that the reported subject didn't actually threaten anyone with a firearm.

Officers have since cleared the building and no suspects were found inside.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
