Police: Fatal Accident Between Motorcycle And Vehicle In Manteca
6 p.m. UPDATE: Police have confirmed that the 48-year-old male motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash Saturday.
Manteca police said when they arrived on the scene of the crash, they found a motorcyclist being treated by the Manteca Fire Department and Manteca Ambulance. According to police bystanders, which included a doctor, retired firefighter, and retired police officer, actively provided CPR to the man until officials arrived.
Police said the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on 1800 block of E. Yosemite Ave when it struck the driver side door and front corner panel of a Toyota Corolla pulling out of an adjacent driveway.
The Toyota was reportedly entering northbound across the eastbound lanes of E. Yosemite Ave. According to officials, the driver was a 55-year-old male.
Police said Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene and that alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.
