Police: Fairfield Student, 11, Attacked While Walking To School

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Police say that a man threw a child to the ground and pulled out a knife in a scary attack Wednesday morning.

The attack happened near East Tabor Avenue and Falcon Drive around 8 a.m., according to the Fairfield Police Department. An 11-year-old Grange Middle School student was reportedly walking to school when the man attacked.

The man reportedly threw the child to the ground, then pulled out a knife. But, the child was able to get away without being hurt and run home.

Officers were soon called to the scene, but the suspect could not be found.

Police say the suspect was man in his 60s who was apparently wearing a brown jack with a fur collar. Anyone who may have seen him is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at (707) 428-7300.
