PETA Offers Reward To Help Find Person Who Left Dog With Severe Burns

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A $5,000 reward is now being offered to find the person responsible for severely abusing a dog in Sacramento.

The German shepherd was found near Danny Nunn Park on Power Inn Road back on April 25. The dog was apparently left for dead with severe burns along her back.

Front Street Animal Shelter posted pictures of the dog on Facebook this week in hopes of identifying the owner.

Friday, PETA announced they are offering up to a $5,000 reward for information in the case.

"It takes a dangerous lack of empathy to horrifically burn a dog and then leave her for dead, suffering alone and in agony," said PETA Senior Director Colleen O'Brien in a release.

The dog is currently receiving extensive veterinary care.
