Ore. Homeowner Thwarts Armed Home Invasion Robber

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say a 20-year-old resident in north Portland grabbed a shotgun from a home invasion robber, shoved him down the stairs and then stood watch over him until officers arrived.

Police said the robber broke down the front door of the home late Monday afternoon and demanded money.

The robber was briefly unconscious after falling down the stairs.

The robber wasn't known to residents, and police said they don't know why the home was a target.

The police say 38-year-old Joshua McCoy was booked on robbery and burglary charges.
