LODI (CBS13) - SWAT Officers have surrounded a home in Lodi where a possible suspect in the shooting death of a Stockton Subway restaurant employee Tuesday night may be hiding.

The home is off Alpine Road in rural Lodi. SWAT officers from the Lodi and Stockton police departments are working to secure the area before they approach the home. Officers have not yet made contact with the suspect, who is considered to be armed and dangerous, says Stockton Police Department spokesman Officer Joe Silva.

The 43-year-old male employee was at the restaurant on Hammer Lane, just off Highway 99, late Tuesday night when the robber walked in. At some point during the incident, the robber shot the employee. The shooting at the Subway appears not to be gang-related, says Silva.

A crisis negotiation team is at the scene in case the suspect does not come out.

Lodi police say the public is not in danger, but urge people to avoid the area of east Kettleman Land and Alpine Road.
