Officers In Citrus Heights Shoot, Kill Suspect Who Pulled Out Knife

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – One man is dead after officers say they were forced to fire in Citrus Heights.

Police officers responded Thursday evening to the 6000 block of Birdcage Street for a domestic disturbance.

Officers there say a woman was hurt and bleeding.

Police attempted to talk to the suspect, but he barricaded himself inside his home. He stayed inside until around 10 p.m.

Investigators then say he came outside and threatened an officer with a knife.

The officer then fired at the suspect, fatally wounding him.

Police have not released the identity of the man as of Friday morning.
