Trespassing motorcycles "ruined" wilderness rehabilitation project in Oakdale, police say
OAKDALE – Authorities in the Central Valley community of Oakdale say motorcycle riders got onto and ruined an extensive project to rehabilitate an ecological area.
Oakdale police say, at some point over the weekend, witnesses reported seeing motorcycles in the Stanley F. Wakefield Wilderness Area.
Officers noted that the motorcycles ruined the rehabilitation project at the wilderness area that had only just been completed last year.
The extent of the damage was not disclosed, but police noted that anyone who they catch riding motorcycles in Oakdale parks could be looking at vandalism charges.
Oakdale is a Stanislaus County city about 15 miles northeast of Modesto.
