Northern California Man Pleads Guilty To Dealing Meth In North Dakota

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A San Jose, California man accused of dealing large quantities of methamphetamine in North Dakota has pleaded guilty in federal court.

Victor Pacheco is charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. The charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Authorities say they were tipped off by an informant that Pacheco was mailing packages of meth to Grand Forks. Agents allegedly sent Pacheco $4,600 concealed in a stuffed animal and received drugs in return.

Pacheco's attorney, Ron Hettich, of Fargo, declined to comment.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 2.
