Nickelback Cancels Tonight's Show After Lead Singer Diagnosed With Cyst On His Larynx

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The band Nickelback has cancelled the remaining shows in its North American "No Fixed Address" tour, including a show scheduled tonight at the Toyota Amphitheatre, after lead singer Chad Kroeger was diagnosed with a cyst on his larynx.

The band announced the news on its website Tuesday. The statement reads, "Chad will undergo surgery in 3 weeks following vocal rest ordered by doctors. Ticket refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

Nickelback cancelled shows over the weekend, hoping the additional rest and treatment would help but an unfortunate diagnosis from Chad's doctor revealed a more serious scenario. 'I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans' shared Chad. 'I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible.'"
The band hopes to continue the European leg of its tour on September 30 in Helsinki, Finland.
