4 Homes Destroyed In 95-Acre Wildfire Near Oroville
OROVILLE (CBS13) — The latest on the Nelson Fire burning in Butte County:
9 p.m.
Cal Fire says the fire is 100 percent contained and burned 95 acres.
2:31 p.m.
Cal Fire says firefighters have stopped the forward progress of the fire.
A total of 95 acres have burned. Containment is at 50 percent.
Four homes have been destroyed in the incident, Cal Fire says.

A wildfire has prompted evacuation orders in Butte County near Oroville early Wednesday afternoon.
The wildfire - which has been named the Nelson Fire - is burning off of Nelson Avenue and 16th Street, near the Thermalito Forebay.

According to Cal Fire, 50 acres have burned so far.
Structures are involved, firefighters say.
The Butte County Sheriff's Office says an evacuation order has been issued for 18th Street to Highway 70 from Nelson to Grand avenues.

Firefighters are reporting making good progress against stopping the forward spread of the flames.
A temporary evacuation point is being opened by the Red Cross at the Nelson Ball Field at 2280 5th Street in Oroville.
