2 Killed In Crash On Highway 99 In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Authorities are investigating a crash on Highway 99 that has claimed two lives.

The scene is on southbound Highway 99 at the 47^th Avenue exit. It appears two cars were involved in a crash just before 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Two people person were killed in the crash, California Highway Patrol says. One person died at the scene while a second person was transported but later died at the hospital.

CHP says no one in the other car was hurt.

At one point, three lanes of Highway 99 were blocked by the crash. The roadway was cleared by noon, but residual backups are still lingering.
