More Black Lives Matter Protests Expected This Week

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – This week more protests in Sacramento are expected over the recent officer-involved shooting deaths across the country.

The Black Lives Matter movement took to the streets of Sacramento on Sunday.

Dozens of protestors peacefully called for justice for the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, who were shot dead by police officers this past week.

The protesters demanded that the officers who killed both men be held accountable.

"These people are supposed to be protecting and serving us, but they are killing and occupying us, so we want to see that situation change," said protest organizer Jamier Sale.

A group of people also gathered in front of the California State Capitol on Sunday evening. They prayed for both men and for the Dallas police officers who were shot and killed on Thursday.
