Mom Jumps On Hood Of Car Driven Away With Her Kids Inside

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - Police say a man suspected of carjacking a vehicle with two young children inside was arrested after he was chased by a good Samaritan and crashed in San Bernardino.

Lt. Rich Lawhead says the kids' mother jumped onto the hood of her car when she saw it being driven away from a liquor store where she had stopped Sunday night.

The woman fell to the pavement as the car sped off. Lawhead says a witness followed the suspect and alerted police. The suspect crashed the car and was found hiding nearby.

The children - two babies who were secured in car seats - were unhurt.

The woman told police she only ran into the store for a minute and had her kids within her sight the whole time.
