Modesto resident, 35, dies after crashing into signal light pole

MODESTO – An investigation is underway after an early morning crash in Modesto left one person dead, police say.

The crash happened a little after 2 a.m. at the intersection of Pelandale Avenue and Tully Road.

Modesto police say a 2008 Acura MDX crashed into a signal light pole at the intersection. Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear.

First responders transported the driver, a 35-year-old Modesto resident, to the hospital, but police say that person later died.

The name of the driver has not been released at this point in the investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is urged to contact investigators.
