Midtown Whole Foods Brings Concerns Of Parking Problems From Lost Garage

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A Whole Foods coming to Midtown Sacramento has residents in the area concerned about the the parking garage it will be replacing.
The 40,000-square-foot store will be build at 20th and L streets and will take away dozens of parking spots currently in a garage.
People in the area say it's already congested, and parking is hard to find, meaning losing the parking garage could hurt people who depend on it.
We tried to get answers from Whole Foods on this community concern, but the company sent us a statement saying "Shoppers will be able to park in a structured garage."
As for other people who currently use those parking spaces, the company did not address it.
A few blocks away is the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op, which has been open for 41 years.
"Our customers act like they own the place, because in fact they do," general manager Paul Cultrera said.
He expects to see a drop in sales once Whole Foods opens, but doesn't think it will last long.
