Man Suspected Of Killing Grandfather In Stockton Also A Suspect In Arden Arcade Murder
ARDEN ARCADE (CBS13) – Detectives have arrested a man suspected of murdering two people on Thursday.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and Stockton Police Department says 25-year-old Richard Robinson is suspected of killing both a 44-year-old man in the Arden Arcade area and his own grandfather in Stockton.
Both incidents were discovered within an hour of each other on Thursday.
Just after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to the 5800 block of Turtle Valley Circle in Stockton and found an 87-year-old man, identified as Kirby Robinson, dead. He had been stabbed and showed signs of suffering blunt-force trauma.
Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, an unconscious man was found in the back parking lot of a Denny's along the 1300 block of Howe Avenue in Sacramento County. The man, who deputies discovered had been stabbed multiple times, soon died at the scene.
The man's identity has not been released.
Both incidents were linked after a vehicle in the Denny's parking lot was identified as belonging to the Stockton homicide victim.
Richard Robison was located and detained near the Denny's scene. He was later interviewed by detectives and arrested.
He has been booked at Sacramento County Jail and is ineligible for bail.
