Man In Wheelchair Struck, Killed By Car On Watt Avenue

NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) - A man in a wheelchair has died after he was struck by a car early Thursday morning.
The scene is near the intersection of Watt Avenue and Roseville Road.
According to California Highway Patrol, the victim was crossing the street illegally a little before 4 a.m. when the driver collided with him.The driver says the man's dark clothing made him difficult to see.
The man in the wheelchair was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP says.
Officers say the driver was traveling at a safe speed and was not influenced by drugs or alcohol. The driver was cooperative with officers and will not be taken into custody, CHP says.
