Man Hit, Killed By Tow Truck Along Elk Grove Boulevard
ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police say that a tow truck hit and killed a man out walking in Elk Grove late Tuesday night.
The man was in the intersection of Elk Grove Boulevard and Bruceville Road when he was hit by the tow truck just after 10 p.m., according to the Elk Grove Police Department. Emergency crews took the man to the hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
Investigators say that the tow truck had a green light and the right of way when the man was hit. The man, who was wearing dark clothing, apparently tried to run across the intersection at the crosswalk when he was hit.
It was the tow truck driver who initially called 911 about the incident, police say.
No other information about the pedestrian has been released.
