Major Fire Destroys Lincoln Home, Other Nearby Structures And Property

LINCOLN (CBS13) - A three-alarm fire heavily damaged three homes in a neighborhood in Lincoln.

The fire broke out around 5 a.m.. at 730 H Street. At one point, flames leaped about 100 feet in the air, according to firefighters.

Police arrived first at the scene and evacuated an entire block.

A woman who lived at the home, and declined an on-camera interview, says she came back from work to find the home engulfed in flames. She was able to call 911 and get her dog out of the home before it was injured.

The fire spread to two other homes, trees and fences. it seemed to explode it in size once it reached trees in the ally. It also brought down power lines.

A neighbor says he saw flames shooting out of one of the homes.

There's no indication that the fire was intentionally set; however, the fire investigation is still underway.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries.

At least five fire agencies were involved in fighting the fires.
