Semi and sedan crash off Galt street, end up on Highway 99; at least 1 dead
GALT – All lanes of southbound Highway 99 are blocked in Galt due to a deadly crash that saw a semi-truck and sedan crash off a city street and onto the freeway, authorities say.
The crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday near Liberty Road.
Both lanes of S/B SR-99 at Central Galt are closed and being diverted off, due to a fatal traffic crash that occurred on C St, witching the City of Galt. Both a semi truck and sedan came off of C St and came to rest on SR-99. Caltrans en route for cleanup, no ETA to open. pic.twitter.com/gy8NCod1rq

Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but it appears that a semi-truck and a sedan were involved in a crash on C Street in Galt. The vehicles eventually came to a rest on Highway 99 in the southbound lanes.
At least one person died in the crash, CHP confirmed.
Caltrans says traffic is being diverted off at the Central Galt exit. Traffic is directed through the city on Frontage Road, then back on the freeway at Fairway.
No estimated time of reopening has been given yet.
